Vanessa & Igor
An intimate wedding week celebrating love, family, and new beginnings
A navy-blue celebration shaped by friendship and family
A Celebration Years in the Making
Vanessa and Igor had already made their commitment to one another, but they wanted to celebrate their marriage in a way that brought their closest family and friends together. Living in Ireland, with Vanessa originally from Canada and Igor from Moldova, Spain offered the perfect setting for an intimate destination wedding surrounded by the people they love.
Barcelona held a particularly special place in Igor's heart. He had spent nine months living in the city while working as a professional photographer and had attended numerous weddings there, giving him a personal connection to the destination and its celebration culture.
Rather than limiting the experience to a single day, Vanessa and Igor welcomed their loved ones to Spain for a full wedding week, creating time to reconnect, celebrate, and enjoy being together.
Elegant Details at Mas Santo
The wedding took place at Mas Santo, where the historic surroundings provided a beautiful backdrop for an elegant navy-blue colour palette. Floral design and styling by Blast Concept brought the vision together, combining abundant florals with warm festoon lighting to create a romantic atmosphere as the day moved into evening.
The ceremony was officiated by the couple's close friend Dea, making the moment especially personal. Their nieces took on important roles as flower girl and junior bridesmaids, adding another lovely family connection to the celebration.
Dinner, Dancing and a Little Rain
A private dining experience by Chef Roberto of Atavola by Colella brought everyone together around the table, while photography by Cathy Loughran captured the intimate atmosphere of the day.
One of the most romantic moments came during the couple's outdoor first dance in front of the house. A little light rain only added to the atmosphere, creating an unexpectedly cinematic moment for the newlyweds.
Later that evening, heavier rain arrived and the celebration moved seamlessly to Plan B inside Mas Santo's authentic Grand Hall. The change of setting did nothing to dampen the mood, with guests continuing the festivities indoors.
The evening ended with a wedding cake from Fantasy Cakes and a wonderfully theatrical cake-cutting moment using a sword. From the intimate ceremony to the rain-soaked first dance and lively evening indoors, Vanessa and Igor's celebration was a beautiful reminder that a meaningful wedding is ultimately about the people gathered together.
