Priya & Ashwin
Two days, two traditions, one beautiful celebration of love.
An unforgettable multicultural wedding weekend in Barcelona
A Celebration Across Cultures
For Priya & Ashwin, their wedding in Barcelona brought together meaningful traditions, elegant design and two days of celebration with the people closest to them. Priya, based in New York, and Ashwin, from London, chose Spain for their love of the country, combining their wedding with the opportunity to explore Menorca. With 127 guests joining them, the celebrations offered a beautiful reflection of their backgrounds, shared experiences and the people who matter most to them.
Sacred traditions at El Palace Barcelona
On 21 May, the wedding celebrations began at El Palace Barcelona with a traditional Hindu ceremony officiated by Pandit Sadhya. The ceremony included meaningful rituals, from the salutation to Lord Ganesha and the exchange of floral garlands to the sacred marriage rituals around the fire.
The couple walked around the sacred fire four times before taking seven steps together, symbolising promises within their marriage. After the ceremony, family and guests gathered to offer their blessings, followed by a traditional Indian lunch.
An Evening Above the City
That evening, the spectacular rooftop terrace of El Palace Barcelona became the setting for the Welcome Event. With panoramic views across the city, the space was transformed by Pedro Navarro’s design team, who introduced fuchsia blossom trees to create a vibrant and elegant atmosphere.
A henna artist added another beautiful cultural element to the celebration, while The Long Players provided live music throughout the evening.
A Romantic Western Wedding at Bell Recó
The following day, the wedding moved from the city to Bell Recó, where Priya & Ashwin celebrated their Western ceremony beneath elegant white blossom trees. Abundant florals and a beautiful fabric structure transformed the grounds, with Bell Recó providing a striking backdrop.
Imperial Concert performed during guest arrival and the ceremony, followed by a tango performance and live jazz from Roameo during the aperitif. Later, the couple shared their first dance on an outdoor dance floor before the evening continued with live music and DJ sets.
As the celebration moved indoors, guests followed the live band through a striking red fabric tunnel designed by Pedro Navarro’s team, creating a memorable transition and a wonderful opportunity for photographs. From sacred rituals to a joyful evening of music and dancing, Priya & Ashwin’s wedding was a celebration filled with culture, connection and unforgettable moments.
