Surrealist styling and Mediterranean flavours for 150 guests in Cadaqués

A Proposal in Dalí's House, A Wedding in His Town

Kelly and Hugo, who live in France, got engaged inside Salvador Dalí's house in Cadaqués — so when it came to choosing where to marry, the town itself was never really in question. On the 30th of May, 150 guests joined them for a wedding that wove together Kelly's Lebanese and Armenian roots, Hugo's ties to Burgundy and Provence, and Cadaqués' own surrealist history into one weekend.

A Church Ceremony, Then a Vintage Car to Cortal Gran

The ceremony took place at Santa Maria de Cadaqués, with Rev. Jean-François Noël officiating. Afterwards, the couple and their guests made their way to Cortal Gran, Kelly and Hugo arriving at the venue in a vintage car.

A Welcome Steeped in Surrealism

Waiters lined the entrance to the courtyard with trays of cava as guests arrived, a live saxophonist playing them in. Video projections ran throughout the welcome — The Colour of Pomegranates for Kelly's Armenian heritage, Peau d'Âne for Hugo's French side, and Destino, Dalí's own collaboration with Disney, as a nod to Cadaqués itself. Once the couple arrived, they led everyone into the garden for a welcome speech, and the aperitivo began, with a live jazz trio from Stereo Star Band performing as guests mingled. A Good Wishes Tree stood nearby, its branches strung with messages guests had written for the couple.

A Banquet Under the Trees

Dinner, catered by GAU, was set under the trees and lit with fairy lights and candles. Centrepieces mixed pomegranates, oranges, grapes and lavender — nods to Armenia, Lebanon, Burgundy and Provence, styled together by Flors Bertrán. Each place setting carried its own bookmark and a handwritten letter on a postcard, a small, personal touch at every seat.

Dancing Beneath a Disco Ball

As the banquet wound down, Stereo Star Band kept playing outdoors, where a checked dance floor and a disco ball hanging from a tree turned the garden into a dance floor of its own. The cake, from MelCakes, was cut with a sword in the middle of the party, before the celebration moved indoors at midnight for the afterparty.

By the end of the night, a wedding that began with a proposal in an artist's house had become its own kind of surrealist scene — four cultures, one town, and 150 guests dancing under the stars.
