An Intimate Wedding Built Around Good Company

Nicole and Adrian, who live in the US, chose the Costa Brava for a wedding centred on two simple things: good food and time with their closest friends and family. With just 28 guests, the celebration stayed small enough for everyone to share every moment, from the first welcome drink to the dancing.

Welcome Drinks at Marimurtra Botanical Garden

The day began at Marimurtra Botanical Garden in Blanes, where guests were welcomed with a drink in one of its gardens. Perched above the Mediterranean and shaded by cypress trees, it made an easy, unhurried start to the day, with time to mingle before heading to the ceremony.

A Ceremony in the Temple Above Sa Forcanera

The ceremony took place in the garden's temple, a domed, columned structure standing above Sa Forcanera, the very first cove of the Costa Brava. Guests sat on white chairs beside the temple, at the top of a stone stairway lined with cypress trees, with the sea sparkling behind the couple. From the temple, the view runs out over rocky headlands and open water, and the florals stayed soft, white and green to let it lead.

Sharlene Halbert led the ceremony, with floral arrangements by Flors Bertrán. Nicole wore a fitted lace gown with a V-neckline and a long veil trailing behind her, while Adrian chose a soft sand-coloured suit with black loafers. Afterwards, guests raised a glass of cava and had time to wander the gardens together.

Aperitivo and a Long Table at Mas Palau

From Marimurtra, guests travelled together by bus to Mas Palau for the rest of the evening. The aperitivo took place in the garden, before dinner and dancing moved inside to the venue's glass hall. There, a long table was dressed with roses, cosmos and delicate white blooms in simple glass vases, sage-green napkins, tall candles and wooden chairs, with catering by Catering L'Empordà.

The palette stayed light and natural throughout: white and cream florals, sage-green linens and sand tones, letting the setting speak for itself. Ilsotec handled the DJ, sound and lights as the night turned to dancing.
