English and Italian destination wedding Barcelona

A Joyful Mediterranean Wedding Filled With Music and Movement

An English–Italian wedding filled with music, laughter, and dance

Surrounded by rolling hills and loved ones from around the world, this English–Italian couple celebrated their new beginning in Barcelona with a weekend filled with colour, rhythm and heartfelt moments.

A Celebration Rooted in Barcelona

Set in the serene hills above Sitges, this wedding at the charming Almiral de la Font brought together an English bride, an Italian groom, and guests from all corners of the world. For the couple, Barcelona was more than a destination — it represented a new beginning. Alex had lived in the city during his earlier years, while Sophie had always felt a deep connection to Barcelona’s warmth and rhythm. Their wedding became the symbolic start of the life they were about to build together as newly relocated residents.

A Weekend of Togetherness

Festivities began on the 17th of May with a relaxed welcome event at Almiral de la Font, featuring paella and wood-fired pizza prepared by Gillian’s Villa Chef School. Friends reunited, new connections were made, and the tone was set for a joyful, warmhearted weekend. Photographer Alex Gallardo captured every natural moment across the two days — from laughter around the pool to the anticipation of the ceremony.

A Ceremony Rich With Meaning

The wedding day on the 18th of May blended tradition with heartfelt personal touches. Sophie surprised her groom by saying parts of her vows in Italian — “I do” and “I take…” — a gesture that deeply moved their families. The couple’s effortlessly stylish look shone through: Sophie in a flowing, embroidered gown with soft waves and a lace veil, and Alex in a tailored dark suit that balanced elegance with modern refinement. Their entrance together, full of joy and movement, reflected their upbeat, expressive personalities.

Dinner, Dancing and a Night to Remember

Food by Moncho’s Catering brought Mediterranean flavours to the table, while flowers by Flors Bertran added soft colour and texture. Live band Calle Habana kept guests dancing throughout dinner — a must for the bride, whose guests included many dancers from her academy — before MediaJockey took over seamlessly for the late-night party. Videographers Taranaki beautifully documented the atmosphere, emotion and energy.

It was a weekend defined by movement, music and the pure happiness of beginning a shared life in Barcelona.
