Ella & Andrew
A Mountain Escape to a Medieval Castle
Italian-Slovenian roots and rustic Catalan charm
Could you imagine having a whole castle to yourself, with sweeping views across green valleys and rugged mountain peaks? That’s exactly what Ella & Andrew experienced when they celebrated their wedding at the breathtaking Castell de Llaés—a venue nestled high in the Ripollès region, where nature is wild and the pace is peaceful.
A Fairytale Backdrop
Choosing to escape the bustle of city life, the couple hosted an intimate and elegant gathering amongst the Catalan hills. The ancient stone walls and dramatic scenery made for a truly cinematic setting, beautifully captured by photographer Andrea Ferrara. Ella looked radiant, her natural beauty enhanced by the talented team at Teresa Snowball & Co.
A Taste of Italy
With the groom’s roots tracing back to both Italy and Slovenia, food was a central feature of the day—and it did not disappoint. A Tavola by Colella served up an authentic Italian feast, bursting with flavour and Mediterranean soul. The dining experience felt personal, heartfelt, and completely in tune with the setting.
Rustic Romance
Floral design by Vidiella Flors added soft elegance to the celebration, weaving organic textures and gentle colours into the castle’s rugged charm. During the aperitif, guests were serenaded by the classic Spanish guitar stylings of Santiago de Cecilia, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed yet refined afternoon.
With the mountains as witness and a warm summer breeze in the air, Ella & Andrew’s day was the epitome of a destination wedding with soul—personal, timeless, and surrounded by the best of nature and heritage.
